4 Inch Sasher

4″ Sasher

$12.00

The 4″ Sasher™ Tool is PQW’s version of a bias maker. It allows you to quickly and easily fold bias or straight grain fabric strips in half (raw edges together), or perform a perfect bias fold using just the Sasher tool and an iron.

Use the 4″ Sasher Tool to make:

  • Stems and vines for applique,
  • Sashing strips for Quilt As You Go quiltmaking,
  • Bias tape for Celtic or stained glass applique,
  • Bag handles,
  • Binding for quilts,
  • Facings and trims for dressmaking,
  • Cover strips for seams and bias folds in fabrics

The 4″ Sasher is a great size for making 2″ wide bag handles. Simply put an 8″ strip through the 4″ Sasher, then through the 2″ Sasher for bag handles with no turning through (add your wadding/ batting after folding)!

You will notice that the sides of the Sasher have a curved shape. This is so the curved edge of an iron can neatly fit against the Sasher as you push it along; Which means no more burnt fingers! Pauline recommends using the mini iron as it fits perfectly in the curve of the Sasher.

Please note – the size on the Sasher is the finished folded width of the strip. You need to cut your fabric twice the finished size required. For example, if you want a 4″ finished size strip, cut your strip 8″ wide, and use the 4″ Sasher to fold the strip.

  • The Orange ones are fantastic to fold the binding strips for the edge of your quilt (2½” & 2¼”). If you cut your binding 2½” wide you will use the 1¼” Sasher tool. If you cut your binding 2¼” wide for a thinner binding you will use the 1⅛” Sasher tool.
  • The Pink ones are fantastic for those who want to do trims on garments (3/4″ & 1″).
  • And the Blue ones are brilliant for those who want to make bias for stems or trimmings around appliqué (1/2″, 1/4″ & 1/8″).
  • The Magic Binding Sasher Tool is the quickest and most precise way to make your binding with a peeper/flange.

Designed to help make stunning sashings for Quilt As You Go quilts, the Ultimate Sasher Collection has a total of 12 different sized Sashers, including 1/8″, 1/4″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″, 1 1/8″, 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 2″, 2 1/2″ and 3″ wide and the Magic Binding Tool.

  • very fine bias strips for applique and Celtic designs
  • peepers to highlight sashings
  • sashings with corner stones
  • bias strips for stems
  • double fold binding to bind quilts
  • make your binding with a peeper/flange

You will notice that the sides of the Sasher have a curved shape. This is so the curved edge of an iron can neatly fit against the Sasher as you push it along; Which means no more burnt fingers! Pauline recommends using the mini iron as it fits perfectly in the curve of the Sasher.

Please note – the size on the Sasher is the finished size of the folded strip. For example, if you require a 2″ finished size, cut the fabric 4″ wide and then put through the 2″ Sasher.

The Sasher Collection Set won the Industry Innovation Award in the 2015 Australian Craft Industry Awards.

Bag Straper Set – Try Our Weaver Sasher Set!

$29.00

Exciting News! You can now purchase our Weaver Sasher Set in place of the Bag Straper Set.

So if your pattern calls for the Bag Strapers, just use one of the Weaver Sashers instead. Click here to buy your set now.

The Bag Straper Set contains 3 different sizes, including 1″, 1 1/2″ and 2″ wide Sashers. They are used to easily make handles and straps for bags without having to turn through tubes.

The Bag Strapers have been designed to enable fabric straps to have binding, interface or stabilisers in them. This gives a very neat finish to your bags and purses. The wider channel allows the layers to feed through easily while you press.

We recommend the Hobbs Heirloom Fusible Batting – but most batting will work. You might like to experiment to find your perfect combination.

Please note – your fabric, batting or stabiliser will need to be cut twice the size of the Bag Straper Tool being used.

Combine with our other Sashers for endless decorative combinations.
