Ebony and Ivory Pattern

The Ebony and Ivory Pattern was designed by Peggy Phelps. The finished quilt measures 40″ x 42″ in size.

The pattern has been designed using Pauline’s Between the Blocks Quilt As You Go (QAYG) technique. Meaning, you will quilt the blocks before doing the applique. You will make a variety of bias strips using the small sashing tools, then appliqué to each of the blocks to build the designs.

If you would like to learn Pauline’s QAYG techniques, we recommend purchasing her Quilt As You Go Handbook. It has all the hints and tips on both the Between the Block, and Back to Back QAYG techniques.

We also suggest purchasing the Sasher Collection Large Set of 10 which contains the Sasher Tool sizes needed to make the quilt. You will require the:

• 1/8″ Sasher, 1/4″ Sasher, and 1/2″ Sasher Tools
• 1″ Sasher Tool to make the sashings
• 1 1/4″ Sasher Tool to make the binding
